What is the order of the 3 triathlon activities?
The Triathlon consists of performing three sports activities in sequence: swimming, cycling and running. The sequence is carried out without outside help and without stopping the stopwatch during the change of discipline (transition).
How to perform in triathlon?
Regularly carry out sessions with sequences (mainly cycling – running) or even multi-sequences in order to accustom your body to this particular effort. These key moments of a triathlon should not be a source of stress for you but rather a source of strength.
What event starts a triathlon?
A triathlon always takes place in the same order: swimming, cycling, then running. It is therefore in the water that the triathletes begin their race following a mass start (mass start) or in waves (rolling start), dressed in a trisuit or a neoprene suit.
How to prepare for a triathlon?
The bike. Long outings remain the most important in your preparation. Integrate a long outing every 2 or 3 weeks, increasing the duration gradually: 3 h, 3h30, 4 h, 4h30 and so on, up to 6 h for an Ironman.
Why does the triathlon start with swimming?
Triathlon is a mass sport with thousands of athletes competing in the same event and whose skills are very varied. It is therefore preferable to avoid any risk of drowning by exhaustion and it is very logical to start with the swimming stage.
How to do transitions in triathlon?
-
Repeat your transition. ...
-
Be minimalist. ...
-
Make your spot hard to miss. ...
-
Cycling shoes on the pedals. ...
-
Run with your bike. ...
-
Uphill/downhill speed of the bike. ...
-
Attach your things to your bike. ...
-
A trisuit for the 3 disciplines.
What distance for a first triathlon?
How to choose your first triathlon
- XS format (or Sprint): 750m swim, 20km bike, 8km run. Ideal for beginners in all disciplines. - CD (or Olympic) format: 1.5km swim; 40km of cycling, 10km of running.
What is the difference between a triathlon and an Ironman?
The Ironman or "iron man" in French designates the most important format of triathlons. Due to its impressive distance (3 events or 226km to be covered in 16 hours maximum), it is also called XXL triathlon or very long distance triathlon. It was in 1977 that the concept of Ironman was born.
How to warm up before a triathlon?
Stand well positioned, but on your stomach. Breathe in calmly, expanding your stomach, and exhale, emptying your stomach. This exercise will allow you to reduce your stress and warm up your diaphragm by causing it to make a movement contrary to conventional breathing.
Who is the inventor of the triathlon?
The triathlon was invented in the early 1970s by the San Diego track club, the San Diego Track club, and was originally another form of training for track and field. The club's first competition included a 10 km run, 8 km bike ride and 500 meter swim.
When to eat before a triathlon?
Respect the deadline of 3 hours before departure, essential to ensure complete digestion. Have a digestible meal, without too much fat: no butter brioche for example!
What is triathlon drafting?
Drafting consists of a cyclist riding behind another cyclist(s) close enough to benefit from the aerodynamic phenomenon of suction and allowing the cyclist to save power.

Wanting to prepare for a 10 km on the road with the aim of going under the 38-minute mark, Arthur helped me manage my training schedule by optimizing each session according to my profile. I was able to avoid injuries and arrive fresh on the day of the event.

Following good performances, I decided to get help from Arthur to continue to improve. It allowed me to stabilize myself. Being of an impatient character, I found it difficult to correctly determine my training sessions. Arthur came to plan and structure them in order to achieve my goals. He managed to balance me.
It also allowed me to gain self-confidence. Thanks to his positive temperament, he made me aware of my strengths, which is an undeniable asset in the world of competition.
Finally Arthur allowed me to surpass myself. His passionate personality allowed me to seek an energy that seemed lost.
Concretely, Arthur allowed me to improve myself both physically and psychologically.

Thank you Arthur for coaching for almost 3 years. Built and detailed plans allowed me a good progression (from 5h20 to 4h50 on Ironman 70.3). Multiple injuries before his help, but his precious and careful advice allows me to avoid new injuries. So nice to have a coach to lean on and plan his season with. I highly recommend!

I met Arthur when training in Annecy in 2020. I was very impressed with Arthur´s awareness of the demands of the sport and his solution based approach to rehab and prehab.

Thanks to the coaching, I was able to have a water ski season without injury. I have never felt so efficient, the physical preparation has played a lot, as well as the specific exercises. Thank you

For several years, I had not managed to have a full season and my level plateaued due to recurring injuries which did not allow me to be regular.
I decided to surround myself with Arphysiotraining in the hope of performing better and injuring myself less. In less than a year, I made enormous progress on foot by lowering my 10k PR by 1min30 to 32'30 this year, and I had my best mountain bike season in 2023.
The regularity in training, the management of volume and fitness peaks have taken me a step beyond my expectations.
Thanks Arthur

''Since working with Arthur I feel a lot more confident in my training, he always focusses on the positives rather than the negatives. I had an achilles tendon injury which he helped me get rid of and back to running a 5000m PB within 3 months. He then leads me to my first England selection which was a big goal for me. I like Arthurs approach to training because he sees things through the eyes of a physio as well as a coach''
